Research interests
My primary interests lie in spatial distributions and population demography of threatened seabirds. Generally speaking, I am interested in investigating how under-examined metrics, especially those obtained through remote sensing, can be used to predict population changes in vulnerable species.
For an idea of my research interests, you can read an example of my proposals here, examining how differences in the gut microbiota of snow petrels influence key character traits and life-history outcomes. My Master’s thesis was an investigation of spatial distributions and patterns of black-footed and Laysan albatross in the North Pacific during their at-sea movements. Lately, I have been working on projects related to seabird displacement from areas impacted by offshore wind farms in the North Sea.
